$6 from half-price books, played a demo when it was new- make a chart that shows three tracks: game price, desire, and availability- once price falls below desire, and availability is above both, then the game gets bought.
Unskippable movies annoying.
In one GLA level the purpose is to destroy buildings, then in other levels I wasn't able to target buildings the same way- why can't I level blocks to clean them out? A China vs. entrenched GLA in a city level should level half the city I'd think.
Special units too difficult to find and use in busier maps where they'd make the most difference- didn't bother with tutorial maybe they need to be hot keyed? Never bothered to assign units to hotkeys, just found and clicked a square around everything. Occasionally some difficulty with units not being able to get past each other on narrow streets.
A few times there was the attack and move are the same mouse button frustration, which has units getting killed because the get too close to a bunch of enemies rather than shooting from a distance (where fewer or no enemies can shoot back).
The game on normal difficulty usually easy until level 6 & 7 of each campaign, then a few saves and reloads are necessary. The final mission of the China campaign was the hardest, after perhaps because of experience gained playing the rest were easier. I liked the short length, beating the game after playing an hour or two a day for a week.
If I can find the Zero Hour expansion pack for a similar price I may purchase it, otherwise I'm looking for a low-cost copy of Warhammer Dawn of War.
